Sensory-electro-oculography by Metrovision

Introduction

The sensory electro-oculography exam is used to measure the resting potential of the retina and its changes as a function of illumination (dark and light). The origin of this potential lies between the pigment epithelium and the external segment of photoreceptors.

This test is useful for the evaluation of diseases affecting the pigment epithelium and the choroid.

Methodology

The test is entirely automated and follows the ISCEV standard

Saccades are recorded at preset time intervals during the dark phase and thereafter during the light phase.

The test is available on the MonPackONE and MonColor systems.
These systems include a built-in video monitoring device which is esssential for monitoring the subject's eye movements and opening of the eyes.

Result analysis

The analysis is entirely automated

The program measures the amplitude of each saccade and then determines:
• the minimum amplitude during the dark phase (dark through),
• the maximum amplitude during the light phase (light peak)
• and their ratio (Arden ration).
