Research and innovation at the origin of Metrovision

Metrovision has been created 30 years ago by a group of researchers from the French National Institute of Health (INSERM). Their research aimed at developping new tests of visual functions, taking into account developments in vision research, medical needs and rapidly progressing technologies.

30 years of continuous innovation

For the last 30 years, Metrovision has constantly innovated in the technology domain (first French automated visual field perimeter, first European ganzfeld stimulator for electroretinography, first eye tracker manufactured in France) and developed innovative medical applications.

Project OPTO

  • This project aims at developping a new generation of equipment for testing visual functions using the latest optoelectronic technologies

This project was supported in part by a grant from OSEO Innovation and the European Fund for Regional Development (FEDER).
These new technologies have resulted in a patent and have been implemented in 2 highly innovative products: MonPackONE, a multifunction instrument combining a liquid crystal matrix to light emitting diode illumination. This combinaison allows the generation of a wide choice of visual stimulations with complete control of structure and luminance over a very large range (10+8 soit 100 millions) corresponding to the dynamic of the visual system. MonCvONE, a new generation of full field projection perimeter using LED illumination.

Project INVISIO

  • Project INVISIO aims at developping new techniques for measuring visual functions combining photonic, autostereoscopy and eye tracking with applications in paedicatric ophthalmology.

This project was supported in part by a grant from OSEO Innovation and the European Fund for Regional Development (FEDER).
The INVISIO project is conducted by Metrovision in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Henrich Hertz Research Institute in Berlin. This project has received the Eurostars label. The Eurostars program, elaborated by EUREKA and the European Commission, supports highly innovative SME oriented toward market with a high potential for growth. It is supported in France by OSEO and in Germany by the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung.
